The Senate has approved an amended version of a budget reconciliation bill (H.R. 3762) that would repeal key provisions of the ACA.  As approved by the Senate on December 3, 2015, the legislation would repeal ACA insurance subsidy and mandate provision, the transitional reinsurance program, and various tax provisions and make a variety of other policy changes.  While the House has not yet voted on the Senate bill, President Obama has promised to veto the legislation if it reaches his desk in its current form, contending that those with employer-based insurance would be at risk of higher premiums – or of losing their coverage altogether. The White House also criticized the Senate amendment for increasing taxes and defunding the Prevention and Public Health Fund.
