A number of recent Congressional hearings have focused on health policy issues, including the following:

  • A Senate Special Committee on Aging hearing titled “Sudden Price Spikes in Off-Patent Drugs: Perspectives from the Front Lines.
  •  A Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee hearing on “Opioid Abuse in America: Facing the Epidemic and Examining Solutions.”
  • A House Energy and Commerce Oversight Subcommittee hearing examining the Affordable Care Act’s state insurance marketplaces.
  • An Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing examining six bills intended to improve health care and medical treatment. Specifically, the hearing focused on HR 921, the Sports Medicine Licensure Clarity Act of 2015; HR 1209, the Improving Access to Maternity Care Act; HR 2713, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act; HR 3441, the Accurate Education for Prenatal Screenings Act; HR 4152, the Cardiac Arrest Survival Act; and HR 4153, the Educating to Prevent Eating Disorders Act of 2015.
