On August 25, 2015, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published technical and typographical corrections to its July 14, 2015 proposed rule to establish a Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model. As explained in greater detail in our Client Alert, this initiative would provide a bundled payment to hospitals in selected geographic areas for an episode of care for lower extremity joint replacement (LEJR) surgery, covering all services provided during the inpatient admission through 90 days post-discharge. Despite the revisions, the comment deadline for the proposed rule remains September 8, 2015.
