CMS has published the first edition of its “Medicare Quarterly Provider Compliance Newsletter,” which is designed to educate fee-for-services providers and suppliers about how to avoid common billing errors. Topics addressed in the first issue include, among others: documentation requirements for inpatient hospitals and skilled nursing facilities; incorrect number of drug units billed; and criteria for inpatient cardiac procedures.
