CMS Regulatory Update
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued a number of major Medicare payment rules. These include final fiscal year 2010 rules regarding Medicare payment for inpatient hospital, long-term care hospital, skilled nursing facility, inpatient rehabilitation facility, and hospice services, along with a proposed calendar year (CY) 2010 rule updating Medicare payments for home health services. CMS also has announced a detailed timeline for the Medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) competitive bidding program Round One Rebid.
